This morning we drove out to a spa/resort town called Chianciano Terme. We met Roberto, our local guide at the Etruscan Museum. Finally we got to learn a little about this ancient people we had heard so much about on this trip. Roberto was a funny man, he kept the tour very entertaining! When the tour through the museum was done we headed over to the Agriturismo for a cooking lesson from Chef Stefano. We made some delicious food with his assistance and watchful eyes!
Our final stop of the day was Chianti, at our stunning Hotel Belvedere San Leonino! We had some free time before welcome drinks and a light dinner to settle into the evening. What a special place this is! |

Highlights: Arriving at Hotel Belvedere was such a dream! This place is truly a paradise! The sunset was extraordinary!
|
Lowlights: While we enjoyed the cooking class there were literally too many hands in the kitchen. Some people jumped from station to station, which made it hard for others to take part in the cooking class.

This morning was just lovely. After a delicious breakfast we "followed" Trish on her walk. The views were just stunning!
At noon we hopped into the bus and headed for beautiful Siena! Trish took us up into the city and showed us around the main sights of Siena before setting us free. We returned to the Cathedral of Siena for a lovely walk through using Rick's book to help guide us past the main sights. We also spent some time relaxing in the “Siena's beach” or the Piazza del Campo. It was a lovely visit! But all good things must come to an end. We had a lovely view of the city before heading back to Hotel |
